The Brakenhale School joins the Greenshaw Learning Trust

The Brakenhale School joined the Trust on 1st April 2016.

When students and staff of The Brakenhale School in Bracknell, Berkshire, return to school to start the summer term, they will become the latest members of the family of schools that makes up the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: “We are very pleased to welcome staff and students, and their parents and carers, of The Brakenhale School into the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

“This is an important step in the growth of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, building a community of schools with a strong sense of shared values and purpose. Brakenhale and the other schools in our Trust will all benefit from close collaboration in the best interests of all their students and staff through working together under the umbrella of the Trust.”

Following careful consideration, the Governing Body of The Brakenhale School decided in December that their school should become an academy and join the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

The governing body and the Trust consulted their stakeholders, and having considered the questions and issues that had been raised in the consultation, they agreed to go ahead. The necessary arrangements were completed just before Easter and The Brakenhale School formally became an academy with the Greenshaw Learning Trust on 1st April 2016.

Victor Seymour Infants’ School in Carshalton has also decided to become an academy and join the Greenshaw Learning Trust – the school has consulted its stakeholders and is on track to join the Trust on 1st May.

Tweeddale Primary School in Carshalton is currently consulting on the proposal of its governing body that it should join the Greenshaw Learning Trust – if the proposal proceeds as planned, it is expected that the school will join the Trust in September.
