Beaufort Academy joins Greenshaw Learning Trust as Holmleigh Park High School
On 3 June, Holmleigh Park High School in Gloucester opened its doors as the latest member of the the Greenshaw family of schools. Holmleigh Park High School, formerly Beaufort Co-Operative Academy, is a co-educational, fully comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18 years old in Tuffley, south of Gloucester.
Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome Holmleigh Park High School into the Greenshaw Learning Trust. The school has joined a ‘family’ of like-minded schools that collaborate to provide mutual support, whilst retaining and developing their own distinctive character. Our aim is to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment so that all our students are given the opportunity to fulfil their potential now and in the future.”
Following discussions with the Department of Education (DfE) and OUR Co-operative Trust, it was agreed that it would be in the best interests of the school, its students and community for Holmleigh Park High School to join the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Greenshaw has the experience, skills and capacity to drive the necessary improvements at the school.
Since February 2019, senior staff of the Greenshaw Learning Trust have been working with OUR, the DfE and the school leadership to prepare the school for transfer. The necessary arrangements were concluded, and the school formally joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust on 1 June 2019. The Greenshaw Learning Trust has appointed Ben Parnell, Regional Director, as Interim Headteacher from 1 June 2019. The Trust will appoint a permanent headteacher for September 2019 to lead the school on its journey of improvement.
