Five Acres students walk the walk

Students raise over £5000 for charity.

Students and staff at Five Acres High School participated in its annual sponsored walk on 4 October 2017.

According to Headteacher, Ben Parnell, students displayed all of Five Acres’ core values; ambition to raise as much money as possible; determination to reach the end of the gruelling 20km walk; confidence to step out of their comfort zone and do something different for a day; respect, both for all the members of the community they met along the way and for the beautiful environment which they walked through; creativity – demonstrated by the fantastic fancy dress costumes worn by by their Year 11 students.

They raised a grand total of £5258 for their two school charities, Great Oaks Hospice and Leanne’s Wish, and for the Headteacher’s charity, Macmillan Cancer Care.
